Background
In late December 2023, M2 Display was commissioned by UN RUAL, a Japanese minimalist accessories brand, to create a full store solution that truly reflected their aesthetic philosophy. The challenge wasn’t just the timeline—it was the finish. UN RUAL wanted a distinctive cement paint (MORTAR ART) texture, a material departure from the conventional wood, fireproof panels, or marble we often work with. M2’s project lead worked closely with the factory to introduce this unfamiliar technique—ensuring the output matched the vision without compromising quality. By early February 2024, the cosmetics store project was completed. What began as an experimental process resulted in a finely detailed store that impressed the client and stayed true to their brand essence.
